The Art of Transitioning
There will come a time
When nothing seems to move
However hard you try
Things just don't improve
See I know how hard it is
To find love in that dark place
As much as you press on
It happens back to base
This is the first verse of my song For Love. I wrote it while I was completing a phase in my life and dwelling in that soar spot between the old and the new. It takes discipline and focus to cross the unknown seas successfully. Here are a few things that I have found to be helpful while you await the new shores.
Rest and know that this time out is a precious gift from the Universe. It is a time to recuperate, regroup and perhaps course correct.
Create and express your soul. Your emotions are bound to take you for a ride. It's wise to find an outlet. Creative pursuits help keep your visionary center, your third eye, open. It is very soothing to loose track of time and run with your imagination.
Play with friends and family. Laughter will help calm your nervous system.
Allow the Divine powers to work on your behalf. Take a break from trying to figure it out and quiet your mind so you can hear any guidance coming through.
Simplify your life. Clear internal and external clutter. Make space for new entries.
Expect the very best for yourself. Your positive expectations help raise the vibration in your life and attracts unexpected help along the way. Believe that miracles can happen to you and they will.
Shed the old and make sure to travel light. Be brave and welcome any losses. Trust that they are what your soul needs in order to grow at this point.
Ground in nature, your biggest ally while in transition. Go outside and befriend Mother Earth. She will help restore the balance and calm to your life. She loves you unconditionally.
Center like the bowman and focus before you release your action.
Listen close to your soul. Follow your longing. Transitions occur because we desire change.
Accept that this is a time to be patient and wait for guidance. Don't resist the way the energy is moving in your life.
Dwell in possibility and steer clear from self sabotage such as fear, anger, envy and doubt. There is new life beyond this death and you are a powerful creator.
Study and be open to receiving new information. Fine tune your unique gifts and be ready to jump in when your life is flowing again.
Trust that your life is divinely guided. All is truly well.
Bless your life with gratitude.
Even if there appears to be no end in sight to this state of limbo, show up each day and do your best. Give of yourself, your time and your resources. This unconditional giving is what gets the life force moving again. Be present and remember that life is always changing. A time of completion is inevitably followed by a decrease, before a new cycle is initiated. There is something new and positive on the horizon that you can't yet see. You are meant to reach the lush shores ahead of you.
