a lesson in courage
I have pulled a card every week to determine the order of the lessons in our blog series about the Major Arcana of the Tarot. It has been fascinating to go through the themes so quickly and feel the energy come and go with each archetype. Perfect events have lined up to help me apply the weekly lesson in my life. My clients' struggles and victories seem to match up as well. That is the beauty of this work. There is so much synchronicity.
Card number eight of the Tarot, will test your character and grow your stamina and steadfastness. True power is the power of love. Our strength is born from the heart.

Allowing fear to rule your life only traps you in a prison of your own making. At this point it becomes important for us to release that which isn't supportive of our true passion and purpose. We may be asked to let go of something that is very dear to us, simply because it gives us no room to grow and become the flower we are meant to be. Awakening to our destiny means parting the veil of illusion and meeting the world whole and intact. From this powerful stance, you will see that anything is possible.
How do you use your will? What is your understanding of the relationship between your will and Divine will? These are questions to ponder when we are under the influence of the "Strength" card.
Our role as spiritual warriors is to stand firm in our conviction and follow direction from Source. Earth angels are sorely needed if we are to continue the song of life on our planet. Listen and heed your call to greatness no matter what it takes. Sometimes we are so afraid of our own success that we freeze up and choose to remain stuck rather than pursuing our dreams.
I remember having lunch with a beloved mentor a few weeks before I left for the US, to meet with my soon to be husband. She drew several pictures, in my calendar, of a flower that kept shedding its petals. This was supposed to symbolize how we learn through experience that the most important relationship we have is our relationship with Source. If we are to fulfill our earthly destiny, we must be willing to "let go and let God" as the saying goes. My heart was torn as I left my family and friends behind to make a new life for myself in such a remote place. I see them every three years at best. It would not work unless I was convinced that my path of service was here. My passion and spiritual drive has led me to make big sacrifices.
The journey to wholeness is ongoing and a life time of hard work and surrender. I am currently being tested and prompted to grow a new layer of confidence. I miss Sweden and I miss my family. They are gently pulling on my heart strings, suggesting that I consider Sweden as a base for my work in the world. I just don't see it working out as well. I am where I am supposed to be.
We all have reoccurring struggles that help us stay on track and keep us moving forward fearlessly despite our occasional fatigue and resistance. We must stand in our truth with courage and avoid blame. We must guard against self-loathing and destructive behavior when we are being pushed to our limit with our daily stuff. Our passion for life will lead the way out of any trouble spot. If the seed is to become the flower we must not fight, deny or avoid the challenges that our Divine serves us.
Ask; how can I bring kindness and loving tolerance to my situation?
Working through earthbound challenges requires a strong base. When we move from the core and use the primal force of our lower chakras to propel us forward, the energies will work for us. Martial arts, Hatha yoga, and belly dancing are all strengthening activities.
Ground and work with your root chakra especially.
I like to take walks in the mountains visiting the hardy Junipers. The wind speaks with the voice of the ancestors in this place. It is very soothing to the soul.
Get down on your knees and greet the spring flowers. Lay on the earth and watch the moon. Let her nourish you. Open your heart to your earth mother. She will restore your strength and help you feel safe as you deal with your growing pains.
