A Lesson in Faith
The Fool is the most adventurous of the Major Arcana cards. This card is a leap of faith that promises a magical encounter with the unknown. All is possible in this the most innocent of beginnings.
You have received an invitation to dance with your soul and dream your deepest desires into being. Surrender to your great loves and move forward. It is time to break free from the routines that tie you down. Flight awaits you.

A new life cycle begins. It is either the journey inward to reclaim your soul or the journey outward to manifest your soul's potential. The position of the Fool in your reading will indicate the direction in which the wind is blowing.
The freedom card, I love seeing the Fool in readings. This leap into the unknown almost feels like a reincarnation. It represents rising above the everyday restrictions of old routines. It is a resurrection. The intensity and boldness of our inspired action may surprise us as well as our loved ones.
There is no turning back when we encounter the springtime potential of the soul. The maiden is the tender dreamer we all carry in our hearts regardless of our age and gender. She stands for passion, divine inspiration, enthusiasm, blessed change and creative action.
Let go of the old stories and beliefs that limit your healing and growth. Let the innocence of your sacred heart lead the way. Fear may come up when you are standing at the edge of the cliff ready to take flight into the unknown. You sense that there might be difficulty ahead. At the same time there is an understanding, that facing these challenges head on and growing makes you stronger.
Comes to mind a famous scene from The Lord of the Rings Trilogy where Gandalf leaps from Saruman's tower and is captured by a beautiful eagle. The eagle represents the divine. You will be supported and protected when you trust your heart and staying in that tower of oppression is not an option.
The reversed effect of the Fool or the need for healing that may come up around this card is if we are in the dark about who we are. We may need to engage in more soul-searching before we are ready to take the leap of faith before us. This is the card that is closest to the Child archetype and healing our ability to dream, play and trust may be the first task handed to us.
The shadow side of the Fool is the forever child that refuses to grow up and take adult responsibilities. We can complete the journey successfully, once our innocence is retrieved and we are back to beginner's mind and having "learned the ropes".
Journal about your fear, drum it or sing it out. Work with affirmations that affirm your openness to change and a more trusting relationship with life. Sit in meditation in order to return to a more innocent and fresh perception. It is time to become fully present to the new journey before you.
Dare to be lighthearted and play around with your attire and attitudes. Do something different for a day. Feel the freedom of this movement of passion and promise.
