tending your soul garden
A reading or healing often works like a wake-up call. It makes a chime, a resonance in the spirit that causes the life force to flow freely again. What happens after this encounter with truth?
At first it may be difficult to identify appropriate actions to take. We may fall into a period of darkness and doubt the value or validity of the guidance that came through.
Your soul will not be satisfied with positive affirmations and prayers. It is a fiery and vital energy that needs an outlet or it may turn inward and manifest as depression, anger, and/or illness.
I created the Resources section based on what has helped me stay on the path to self-realization. I work with these concepts all the time. May it be helpful to you as well.
Call on your deepest creativity and have at least two or more projects at any given time. Your projects are vessels for your soul mission and gifts. Soulful projects take at least a year and most take a lifetime. Soul Garden Companion is my lifetime project. Birthing it into form was playful and effortless, much like the activities we love as children. I often lost track of time. Ideas came through around the clock. I never had to force it.
Have a yoga or meditation practice.
Find a sacred place in nature where you feel connected and visit this place weekly. Converse with the plants and animals. Journal or read a special book.
Present your soul work to your family, friends and community.
Pray and connect with your spirit helpers.
Tell your love ones every day that you love them. Practice, practice, practice..:)
One Step Actions
Forgiveness, quitting a soul stifling job or accepting one that may be risky but allows your soul to soar, proposing marriage or declaring divorce, settling debt, all belong in this category.
The purpose of all ceremony is to call in spiritual help, to commune with your guides and helpers. It is a powerful way to embody your dreams and prayers for a more soulful life. Self designed ceremonies are most effective. Work with the elements and directions. Be clear on what you are asking spirit for and remember to leave a gift for Mother Earth. I usually give at least one ceremonial suggestion during sessions. Ceremony is empowering, creative and fun.
Set up an altar in your home and/or yard. Let it be a canvas and a focus for your soul's healing and growth. Gather sacred items that remind you of who you are and what you long to create. Renew the energy on your altar by allowing it to change with the seasons and moon phases. If you do not feel comfortable having an altar in your home, you could use an alchemy or prayer box as your private altar.
Your home has the potential to be a house of healing, a sacred sanctuary where you recharge and feel inspired. Smudge it regularly and keep it orderly and clean.Vacuuming is one of the most efficient ways to clear your home energetically. Leave the windows open and air out every day, even if just for a few minutes. Clutter clear and work with feng shui.
Keep crystals, plants, and roots around. Use pottery and beautiful textiles. Beautify your home and keep in mind that each room has a different purpose and energy.Your hallway is your receiving area where you welcome visitors to your sacred home. It has the energy of vitality. The living room is a spiritual center, a gathering place and a space to create balance and harmony. Your kitchen is a creative healing laboratory with lots of fire energy. The bathroom is your personal spa. Your bedroom is a regeneration chamber and has the energy of love.
Call on the divine to bless your home.
Most of us can not afford to work with healers and psychics on a weekly or monthly basis. Find a Tarot deck or set of runes and study these divination tools for your own use. You'll enjoy doing readings and connecting with your guides and angels in this way.
I once heard a spiritual teacher state that it is the body that is on a spiritual journey. Tuning into your body temple, you are able to make choices that lead to more healing and growth.

I learned during my shamanic training that the womb is our spiritual stomach. All our creations originate as seeds in this feminine center. We birth our authentic selves from this place. Commune with your womb often. Release old sadness and hurt. Tension and aches in the lower belly are messengers of soul urging you to engage in self-care. Set aside time for play, pleasure, creativity and rest.
Watch for overindulgence and addictions.
