Healing Our Roots

When silence no longer serves you, when healing calls your name,
I will be waiting for you
Here in the shadows
to show you another way
— Lucy H. Pearce

The medicine woman is a weaver between worlds, here to return the sacred to ordinary life. She arrives with an invitation to grow our roots deep into the earth so that we may rise tall and strong and commit both to our healing and our expansion.

An All Inclusive Lakefront
Medicine Retreat

MEDICINE WOMAN RETREAT

Dates: Dec 10 - Dec 13, 2026
Lake Nacimiento, CA

WHAT AWAITS YOU

We do not become healers. We came as healers. We are! Some of us are still catching up to what we are.
— Clarissa Pinkola Estés

Join us at beautiful Lake Nacimiento for a 4-Day 3-Night immersion in yoga and ancient medicine ways. We come together to share sisterhood, magic and the beauty and power of our medicine.

So much is possible when we gather from all walks of life and form circles of love, trust, support and non judgment. Having female bonding time supports our health, wellness, healing and happiness.

During this all inclusive lake front medicine retreat, you will have a unique opportunity to trade the demands and busy-ness of our modern day world for the pristine nature and wildlife around Lake Nacimiento. This lake, known as ‘The Dragon’ for it’s unique shape, is a big healing force that can facilitate transformation and growth in and by itself.

You will be able to nourish your body, mind and spirit using a variety of healing tools, including:

  • Daily hatha yoga

  • Guided circles and shamanic ceremonies

  • Crystal sound baths

  • Cacao

  • Conscious dance

  • Guided meditation and breathwork

  • Altars and crafts

  • Delicious and nutritious organic meals and snacks prepared by our private chef Kanela Silva

  • Deep sisterhood in an intimate container

Medicine woman is the great transformer. She teaches us to take the pain, loss and grief and transform them, recycle them, transmute them into healing, into art, and into compassion, into hope, into medicine, into pure love for ourselves and others.

Tapping into our deep knowing and deep listening…

We have crafted a retreat program for you with the following goals in mind:

  • Divine feminine embodiment: Practices and crafts that anchor you into your own feminine essence

  • Reclaiming balance to your root chakra: Healing ancestral wounds and retrieving the unique medicine past down through your maternal and paternal lineages

  • Power stacking: Becoming introduced to your inner circle of helping spirits, your medicine council.

  • Embracing cyclical wisdom: Fostering a deep connection with the natural world

  • Reawaken strength and wisdom in your body: say someting about the yoga on this retreat

  • Building community: Cultivating a network of supportive individuals committed to ongoing personal growth and truth-seeking.

  • Strengthening the body: Providing fresh organic meals that rejuvenate, energize and detoxify.

SHAMANIC CEREMONY

Shamanism is the most ancient form of healing practiced by humans worldwide (40 000 years or more) and a way to connect with your deeper self through communion with nature and compassionate helping spirits.

Immerse yourself in the powerful wilderness of Zion and commune with ancestral and elemental forces to heal and learn more about your medicine and your unique place in the great web of life.

Engage in the ancient art and practice of shamanic journeying and commune with the helping spirits that have been uniquely assigned to assist you in fulfilling your soul mission and cultivating your personal strengths.

HATHA YOGA

Enjoy daily yogasana, the physical practice of yoga, designed to unwind the body and mind from the stressors of daily life.

Experience the profound benefits of pranayama, the art of breath control, to cleanse and energize your being.

Deepen your journey with guided meditation sessions that cultivate mental clarity, compassion, and greater self-awareness.

Each day we will imbibe different facets of this timeless practice to cultivate greater ease and lightness of being while our senses are nourished by Mama Nature.

CRYSTAL SOUND BATHS

Discover Ayurveda where ancient wisdom seamlessly informs self-care practices (sadhana) for modern life.

Experience personalized Ayurvedic routines designed to balance your body's natural and unique constitution, enhance vitality, and promote holistic wellness.

Delight in delicious, nourishing meals and snacks prepared by our private local chef according to Ayurvedic principles, aimed at detoxifying and rejuvenating your body.

Engage in workshops that teach you the art of Ayurvedic self-care including oil massage, herbal treatments, and daily rituals. Embrace a journey of healing and harmony, cultivating inner balance and radiant health.

CRAFTS & ALTARS

Allow truth to be your guiding star and claim your full expression while working with the three female archetypes that best support your inner spirit woman; your dreamer, warrior, and healer.

Nature ceremonies and rituals exist at the heart of our human story. Our ancient ancestors gathered in caves and raised stone circles to access the wisdom born from earth and sky.

Enjoy creating and working with your own Spirit Woman portable altar directly on the land.

Unlock the magic of your wild instinctual self and enjoy greater creative flow, joy, and clarity in your life.

The doors to the world of the wild Self are few but precious. If you have a deep scar, that is a door, if you have an old, old story, that is a door. If you love the sky and the water so much you almost cannot bear it, that is a door. If you yearn for a deeper life, a full life, a sane life, that is a door.
— Clarissa Pinkola Estes, Women Who Run with the Wolves

MEET YOUR HOSTS

Victoria Lagerström and Ana Culbertson share a mutual love of the healing arts, Mother Earth, and the sacredness of Zion Canyon. They each bring a unique set of skills that help create an unforgettable experience.

VICTORIA LAGERSTRÖM

Soul Garden Companion

Victoria is a shamanic healing practitioner with roots in Sweden and the US. After finding love overseas, Victoria relocated to the beautiful red rock desert of Zion National Park where she married American singer/songwriter Dave Tate.

It was on this new journey of self-discovery and transformation that she was introduced to shamanism and the healing effects of the natural environment.

Victoria graduated from the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition Apprenticeship Program – Peruvian Shamanic Arts For Personal And Planetary Renewal - in 2012. This in-depth two year cross-cultural program led by respected teachers Don Oscar Miro-Quesada and Bonnie Glass-Coffin, Ph.D. emphasizes personal healing as a necessary preparation for client work. More recent studies include “The Art And Practice of Shamanic Healing: A Three -Year Professional Training And Initiation” with renowned teacher Julie M. Kramer.

Mother of Eliot, active member of Central Coast holistic community, Victoria has a private healing practice in Los Osos, CA and teaches the ancient medicine ways of Peruvian and core shamanism through local healing circles and retreats.

“My connectedness to the earth’s healing wisdom and the divine feminine awakened me to my true path. I feel so grateful and excited whenever I have an opportunity to share these ancient medicine ways with others. The time is now to stand for love, hope, and positive change so that we may all experience greater harmony within and without.”

Ana Culbertson

Oceana Yoga

Ana began her artistic journey as a full music producer and DJ in Los Angeles. After surviving a life threatening battle with cancer and enduring incredibly harsh treatments of chemotherapy, radiation and surgery, her passion evolved from music to holistic healing for the last decade.

Now, Ana witnesses every day the profound transformative effects when yoga, conscious dance &sound healing infuse.

Ana completed her 500 Hour Advanced Yoga Teacher Training at Mira Costa College in San Diego. She also holds a certification in Health and Wellness Coaching (CPD Accredited). Her third Certification in Wildcrafting and Herbalism was earned as she lived fully off grid on Hawai’i’s Big Island.

All the while, Ana deepened her knowledge in meditation, studied and taught yoga and explored the nature of her own consciousness.

Currently, Ana offers beach yoga, conscious dances on the beach & crystal bowl sound healing on the Central Coast of California. You will see our incredible community of beginning practitioners to advanced yogis following her compassionate and passionate lead. Ringing in the mornings & sunsets with classes focused on mindful breathing, classic Vinyasa and Hatha flows; all in a loving, supportive environment.

MEET OUR CHEF

KANELA SILVA

Silva Lining Cuisine

Chef Kanela Ann Silva has built a catering philosophy rooted in sustainability, vibrant flavor, and heartfelt hospitality, one plate at a time.

Growing up in Hawaii, Kanela Ann developed an early appreciation for the natural abundance of fresh, organic fruits and vegetables. Surrounded by a culture that values land stewardship and respect for nature, she learned firsthand that food tastes best when it is grown with care and prepared with intention. That foundation shaped not only her palate, but her purpose: to create cuisine that celebrates health, sustainability, and the joy of gathering around the table.  This farm-to-table ethos ensures that each dish is rich in flavor, nutrient-dense, and thoughtfully prepared.

Beyond the food itself, what sets Chef Kanela Ann apart is her reverence for the dining experience. She is, as she says, “conscientiously dedicated to the pleasures of the table.” Every event is treated as an opportunity to connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories through shared meals.

I have been taking my medicine: Art as medicine. Sex as medicine. Nature as medicine. Circles as medicine. Touch as medicine. Music as medicine. Movement as medicine. Prayer as medicine. Food as medicine. Colour as medicine. Tears as medicine. Silence as medicine. Love as medicine. Darkness as medicine. Will you join me?
— Lucy H. Pearce, Medicine Woman

WHY MEDICINE WOMAN?

Medicine Woman is she who has walked this world and healed for a hundred thousand years before the gleam of steel and the coming of the machines.
Medicine woman is the holder of the map to the mysterious road to healing. In one hand she holds the honey - the golden elixir of life, sweetness and healing to stomach and soul, balm to the aching body. In the other she holds a bone knife - to cut away the old, the dead, the decayed. She knows that healing needs both. She teaches impermanence, surrender, the beauty and potential of endless transformation. She swipes away the ego, the shell, the identity and asks you to see what lies beneath. And bebeath that too...
She is in your bones. You are she.
— Lucy H. Pearce

Medicine woman is a journey of self-discovery and remembrance. A wellspring of healing wisdom resides within each of us, as we all spring from the ancestral seeds of our grandmothers, born in this time to share the healing gifts unique to our blood and soul lineages.

The Medicine Woman Wilderness Retreat will allow you to reconnect with the timeless wisdom of being a woman, overcoming your perceived limitations, and awakening to the nurturing and unconditional love of Mother Earth.

Lake Nacimiento is quiet and serene in the winter. A special kind of magic and stillness permeates the lake and surroundings and it is powerful medicine.

The Medicine Woman Wilderness Retreat is an intimate gathering (space is limited to 12 participants) and a deep healing experience of the heart.

If you feel guided to say YES to this transformative gahering - calling us home to ourselves, each other, and Mother Earth, please register below and we will walk you through the process.
